Sarah Gerkins

Ms. Gerkins is a litigation associate with the firm focusing on defending businesses and insureds in complex civil litigation as well as uninsured motorist litigation.

Ms. Gerkins was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee where she attended Knoxville Catholic High School. She then moved to South Carolina and attended the Honors College at the College of Charleston. As an undergraduate, Ms. Gerkins volunteered with the Metanoia Youth Leadership Academy, worked as a consultant for the Center for Student Learning Writing Lab, and spent a semester studying in Paris. After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, she worked as a paralegal for a Charleston insurance defense firm specializing in medical malpractice litigation.

Ms. Gerkins then returned to Knoxville where she earned her J.D. at the University of Tennessee College of Law. While in law school, Ms. Gerkins worked as a student attorney with the Advocacy Legal Clinic and served as a Summer Fellow for the Tennessee Access to Justice Commission.

Ms. Gerkins is admitted in the State of Tennessee and the Middle District of Tennessee. She is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations. In her spare time,  Ms. Gerkins enjoys exploring Nashville’s food scene, as well as all the great local music the city has to offer.
